How we make money

The short answer is affiliate tags on outbound store links. The reason this page exists is that a gifting product should be able to say where its money comes from without hedging.

The nav and the footer link here, so the page exists rather than dead-ending. The headings below are the structure we intend; the words are not written and none of them have been reviewed. Amber markers are the holes.

What this page will cover
01

Affiliate links

When a giver follows a link to a merchant and buys, that merchant may pay us a commission. It costs the giver nothing and does not change the price.

02

What it never affects

Nothing on this site is a paid placement, no ranking is for sale, and no list is ordered by what pays us. exact FTC-compliant disclosure wording — with counsel

03

There is no advertising

No banners on a list, no sponsored grid under a registry, no popup asking a guest to install anything.

04

There is no payment to take a cut of

The platform never processes, holds or refunds money — givers buy at the store directly. That means there is no contribution to fee, no processing to absorb, and no payout to skim.

05

What that means for Giving Back lists

An organisation receives the item itself, not a transfer. The claim record is the audit trail; the photos are the proof.

Where this sits in the build

The commitments are already enforced by the product's design. The page is waiting on counsel for the disclosure wording, the same as the legal drafts.
